How to Prepare for a Saline Removal Appointment

Dana Depta • May 01, 2021
Getting your permanent makeup removed is very simple. It's just like getting it done in the first place, with a few minor differences.
  • In general, a patch test is not required for removal. The exception to this is if you have any allergies or if you have a darker skin tone. Darker skin tones have a higher risk of hyper/ hypo pigmentation. This means that when the skin is brokem, it can turn much darker or lighter than your normal skin tone.
  • If you would like to book a patch test, it is £10 and will need to be done in house. We will tattoo a pea sized spot behind the ear (with no pigment or saline) to see if it heals to the natural skin tone.
  • If you need a patch test, it should be booked at least 2 weeks before the removal treatment date.
  • If you have a serious medical condition listed here, please inform us before your appointment.
  • If you have any medical condition and are under doctor’s supervision you will have to get a letter from GP to prove that you are suitable for permanent makeup treatment.
  • You CANNOT BE PREGNANT or BREAST FEEDING. No exceptions.
  • Do not come to your apointment with a sunburn on the area that will be treated. If you do, we cannot treat you and you will forfeit your deposit.
  • Do not go tanning for several weeks before your appointment (no sprays too).
  • Do not work out on the day of your treatment.
  • You must be off Retin-A or Retinols for 7 days prior to your appointment and avoid using on or around the area for 30 days after.
  • If there are any blemishes, pimples, active cold sores, irritation of the skin, we will not able to do the procedure until the blemish or area of concern is gone.
  • Please note that we have a very busy schedule. Please arrive on time as if you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled, your deposit will be forfeited, and you will be asked to pay another deposit.
  • Wear loose clothing in the area to be treated.  Make sure that it can be removed if necessary (i.e. leg tattoos).
  • Expect to be at the shop for about an hour (or less). There is parking outside (pay by phone) or a local Sainsburys that offers free parking if you spend a minimum amount there.
  • You may experience extra sensitivity around your menstrual cycle. You may want to bear this in mind when booking your appointment.
  • Please apply Emla cream for eyebrows or tattoos. Cover with cling film (so it doesn't dry out) about 45 minutes to an hour before you arrive. This will ensure you are super comfortable throughout the appointment. You can purchase this at any online pharmacy.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 3 days notice, otherwise your deposit will be forfeited. To cancel or reschedule, email us at: info@danadepta.com
