What is it?

Saline tattoo removal is a unique method of tattoo ink extraction which is designed to completely remove your tattoo ink particles from the body. It can remove coloured tattoos, black and white ones... any kind of tattoo, no matter the age.

How is it done?

The saline solution is tattooed into the tattoo. The formula then starts the process of osmosis, where the salts in the liquid pull out water in the skin, and with it, takes the captured tattoo ink.

After the treatment is finished, the skin will return to its natural state over a period of weeks.

Normally, several sessions are  required to completely remove a tattoo. The amount of sessions will depend on the colour(s), depth of pigment and the saturation (how dense it is).

Why choose Saline Removal?

Saline removal is less painful than laser!

You won't get burns or blisters from saline removal.

Saline removal is much cheaper than laser!

Often, saline requires less treatment sessions.

Saline can remove ALL colours!Laser can only remove certain colours, depending on frequency of the machine.

Saline removal can remove small sections of tattoos- it's very precise.

Saline is gentle enough for the face.

No need to shave your hair and you won't have hair loss in area.

Tattoo Removal FAQs

  • How many sessions will it take to remove my tattoo?

It's hard to say how many sessions it will take as everyone will lighten at different rates.

The main factors in lightening rate are:

    • Colour(s) of tattoo. Black ink lightens faster than white.

    • Depth of pigment. Deeper ink will take longer to come out. Some of the signs that your ink is deep is scarring (raised and a bit shiny) and blowouts or shadows around the tattoo.

    • Saturation. This is how dense the colour is in the tattoo. The denser it is, the more time it will take to come out.

Even with all of these factors taken into consideration, it's impossible to tell how many sessions it will take as everyone lightens differently.

With that being said, there's no need to book for more than one session at a time. You don't need to book a package of 5 as maybe 3 will do.

  • Does saline tattoo removal hurt?

Everyone reacts to pain differently.  We will use a topical anaesthetic before so that you are as comfortable as possible. If you are very sensitive, you can apply an anaesthetic before you arrive.

It will feel like you are being tattooed, but with a little bit more burning sensation from the salt.

Most clients rate the pain as a 1 out of 10 (whereas 1 is the least painful and 10 is the most).

After the treatment, you may have some soreness. This can last up to several days, depending on how sensitive your skin is.

  • What happens at my tattoo removal appointment?

When you come in, we will clean the area and apply a numbing cream to the tattoo being removed.

Then it's paper work time. You'll complete a short consent form.

We then begin to tattoo the saline into the tattoo. Depending on how big it is, it can range from just a few minutes or can take up to an hour.

After care will then be explained, and you will be given instructions to take home.

  • Is saline removal safe?

Saline removal involves tattooing a super concentrated saline solution into the tattoo.

This is done in a tattoo shop with very strict hygiene regulations. All of our equipment is disposable and never re-used.

The saline solution is all natural. It contains no acids, no harmful chemicals or other yucky stuff.

Saline removal typically leaves no scarring, no blisters or burns. It is even gentle enough to use on eyelids!

  • Is saline tattoo removal suitable for all skin types & skin tones?

Saline tattoo removal can be used on all skin types and skin tones.

A patch test is recommended for anyone with darker skin tones to rule out developing hyper or hypo pigmentation.

  • How long is the healing process after tattoo removal?

It will take several days for the scab to come off. Most fit and healthy people will shed the scab within the first week. Sometimes it may take longer.

Once the scab comes off, your skin will be a bit pink. This will gradually go away over the next few weeks.

Sessions can be done every 8 weeks.

  • Are there side effects of saline tattoo removal?

Most people will have redness, puffiness and soreness after the treatment. It may feel like a bad sun burn. This usually goes down within a few hours.

The treated area may be red for several days.

  • What is the aftercare for saline tattoo removal?

You will need to wipe the treated area with saline solution to keep it clean.

Most importantly,  you must keep the area as dry as posisble until the scabs come off.

Do not pick, or remove the scabbing.

  • Does saline tattoo removal work?

    Yes, it does.

In fact, saline tattoo removal is great for those hard colours that laser struggles with. And it doesn't matter how old the tattoo is,

Traditionally laser has always been used for tattoo removal, but saline works too. Best yet, you don't get all of the yucky side effects that you get with laser removal.

Tattoo removal takes several sessions-no matter which method you choose.
